Here, Alban Berg’s stunning operatic adaption – a landmark in 20th century music – is brought to vivid life by William Kentridge, one of the great visual artists of our time.

Kentridge takes his audience into the shattered mind of Wozzeck, and into visions of the carnage Berg witnessed firsthand as a soldier in WWI.

As Kentridge’s animated charcoal drawings lay bare a ruined Europe and a tortured soul, the audience watches aghast as Wozzeck stumbles toward his doom.
