Sculptured Riddims dance crew line-up unleashed
Back toStories
Art meets music and dance in Sculptured Riddims, a high-energy immersive experience taking over The Thirsty Mile's Moonshine Bar across three rowdy and rhythmic nights. And you’ll be right in the thick of it.
In the midst of the twisting neon installation Hi-Vis, dance artists will bring their best energy and you won't be able to help yourself but match it (strictly in spirit of course, good luck matching their epic moves).
Sculptured Riddims is curated by Azzam Mohamed, produced with Intimate Spectacle. Mohamed, aka Shazam, is a dancer, performer, choreographer and educator from Sudan and now based in Sydney. He and his crew, Riddim Nation, co-developed and performed in Sydney Festival fave, Nick Power's Two Crews, Two Crews, in 2020.
Each Sculptured Riddims night will showcase different communities, cultures, music genres and dance styles — from club to street to Afro dance. And now we are stoked to release the incredible line-up of crews and dancers you can expect.
Disco House
Sculptured Riddims: Disco House kicks off with 70s and 80s grooves, with tracks spanning disco, house and blistering ballroom beats. Wildly talented dancers will give you everything they’ve got with waacking, voguing and house dance performances. It'll be next level.
