A passionate champion of the Arts, she will be fondly remembered as one of Australia's most dedicated arts administrators by all who knew and worked with her.
It was her drive and dedication to the Arts that saw her excel in high-profile positions in Hong Kong, London and Sydney. During her illustrious career, she played key roles as Head of Policy at SBS, General Manager Sadler's Wells, Founding Director at the Wheeler Centre, Executive Director at Sydney Festival, acting Executive Director of Sydney Dance Company and most recently as Chief Executive of Sydney Writers Festival.
During her time as General Manager at Sydney Festival in 2001 – 2003, Chrissy introduced audiences to the works of The Flood Drummers by Hélène Cixous, OBS: Macbeth by Spanish theatre group La Fura dels Baus, Same, Same But Different by Kate Champion, Cloud by Michael Riley, New York’s legendary Mark Morris Dance Group and Urban Tide by Craig Walsh - creating a series of iconic Sydney Festival moments that continue to live long in the memories of all Sydneysiders who enjoyed them.
She will always be remembered not just for her unyielding support for the Arts, but also as a loved and admired member of our Festival family and history.
To Chrissy's family and her husband Michael Lynch AO CBE, we offer our deepest sympathies.
